Time: 09:00 AM – 12.00 PM

Hardware Provided: A cisco router, switch, connectors and two desktop computers.

Software Provided: Cisco Packet Tracer 7.0.

Maximum Points: 50

Participant/s are expected to design/simulate a working network for a given problem statement using Cisco Equipment/Cisco Packet Tracer.


The judges will evaluate each network design based on the following aspects:

  • 10 % of marks based on subnetting.
  • 10 % of marks based on correct allocation and assignment of IP Addresses on VLANs.
  • 20 % of marks based on any necessary configurations (which may or may not be mentioned in the question) ensuring that the desktop machines are correctly configured for a client/server setup.
  • 10 % of marks based on the method(s) used to test connectivity and prove that two devices are connected.


  • Two participants per team.
  • One team per institution only.
  • No reference material is to be used.
  • This activity is to be done using a Cisco Equipment or Cisco Network Simulator (Cisco Packet Tracer).


  1. The winner will get 50 points.
  2. The first runner up will get 35 points.
  3. The second runner up will get 15 points.

At the end of the day points from all events will be added up together and the institution which has accumulated maximum points will be awarded a rolling trophy. All the event descriptions are approved by the event management committee. The event management committee has the right to make any changes on the given proposal at any time.
