Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching

Mode of Study

Campus Learning

The role and skills required of a core network engineer are evolving significantly as enterprise networks encounter increased business demands and technology advancements. To meet these challenges, skilled IT professionals are needed with up-to-date, networking skills. For individuals looking to build and validate Cisco networking fundamentals, the Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching program focuses on foundational IP networking skills required to deploy, operate and troubleshoot network layers 1-3. It introduces awareness of programmable networks (SDN), VPN technologies, adoption of IPv6, virtualized and cloud services, along with knowledge of QoS concepts and the ability to ensure critical traffic is being properly prioritized.

Programme details: CCNA Routing & Switching has four modules designed to provide classroom and laboratory experience in current and emerging networking technology and help students prepare for certification as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). The four modules are: CCNA Routing & Switching 1: Introduction to Networks, CCNA Routing & Switching 2: Switching Essentials, CCNA Routing & Switching 3: Scaling Networks and CCNA Routing & Switching 4: Connecting Networks. The number at the end of the module in parenthesis indicates the credit load of the module. 1 credit is equal to 10 hours of learning (guided, in-class and independent combined); therefore a 15-credit module requires on average 150 hours of learning from the student.
