Mr and Miss Botho 2017 crowned

The newly crowned Mr & Miss Botho University 2017 scooped the prestigious titles on the 8th September 2017, at Botho University’s multipurpose hall, after fierce competition with other hopeful contestants. The annual beauty pageant was, this year, held under the theme “Embracing Beauty & Talent as the University celebrates 20 years of existence.”

Botho Thabiso Sebako clinched the Miss Botho University title, followed by first princess Laone Lebese, and second princess Ntombi Khumalo. Sebako emerged as the beauty with brains, and the popular choice, as the crowd screamed in excitement when she was crowned after a heated question and answer session.

The contestants for the Mr Botho University title also battled to scoop the first position, with M Andrew David, walking away victorious, followed by 1st Prince, Thami Mathaba and 2nd Prince, Tebo Nthwana.

The winners will engage in community projects involving all winners and sponsors, as a form of appreciation for the sponsors’ input, and to give them a sense of belonging to our loving community. This will include painting a house in G-West and the donation of patients’ waiting benches at Nkoyaphiri clinic. These projects will be carried out in conjunction with the SAAD office as well as the SRC and the Mr and Miss Botho University committee.

Performances kept the crowd alive throughout the night as they waited patiently for the judges to deliberate on who will scoop the crown. The main headliner for the performances Vee Mampeezy, accompanied by Figos and Mingo, brought down the house. The MC of the night Mjamaica kept the house on their toes with his jokes, and proved he is the best comedian in the country.
