Botho University conducts Open Day for Parents

On Friday 17th March 2017, Botho University invited parents of all currently enrolled students for an Open day and interaction session. The event was held at both the Gaborone and Francistown Campuses. The main idea to conduct the event was to answer any questions about the institution, its programmes and the facilities and resources provided to students. As part of the event, parents were requested to have a tour of the campus facilities for an appreciation of the teaching and learning environment provided for their students. For many parents this was the first time that they had visited the institution. The campus tour was followed by a detailed question and answer session where senior management addressed queries raised by parents or guardians. At the end of the question and answer session, the lecturers and Head of Departments of respective faculties and programmes were also available to answer any specific queries. In Gaborone, 138 parents and 70 parents in Francistown attended the event. The feedback received from parents and guardians was that they appreciated the move and that they got an opportunity to get all their queries answered directly from the relevant members of staff. The University was extremely grateful for the parents’ presence and assured them that their children were being provided high quality education. Parents and Guardians also gave feedback that though their children were at tertiary level, they would still like to be involved by the University on all aspects of their children’s education and performance from the onset. Botho University appreciated all the feedback provided and plans are underway to make this a regular activity. Botho University has also set up a helpline and email address for any further queries from parents or guardians. They can send their questions to askus@bothouniversity.ac.bw or call +267 3635482 from Monday to Friday
