MSc in Mobile Technologies


Master in Mobile Technologies is targeted at those wishing to enter into mobile applications and devices of the IT sector. The aim of this programme is to impart the understanding and skills required to manage complex mobile Information technology systems as part of the support services of an organisation. This will include selections, installation, developing, maintenance and support of a wide range of mobile computing technologies and an understanding of currently recommended mobile computing technologies. Graduates can expect to find employment as Mobile System Engineer, Applications Test Specialist, IPAD/Tablet Developer, Game/App Developer, Mobile Architect, Tech Support Engineer, Windows Mobile Applications Developer.

Programme details: The programme consists of core (required) and some modules may have pre-requisites (i.e. may require the student to pass another module or set of modules first). Some modules may be co-requisite (i.e. such modules are required to be taken together). The number at the end of the module in parenthesis indicates the credit load of the module. 1 credit is equal to 10 hours of learning (guided, in-class and independent combined); therefore a 10-credit module requires on average 100 hours of learning from the student.

Recommended full-time study path (For IT graduate students: 1½ years, For Non IT Graduate students: 2 years):

  • Semester 1: C6 - DCN, C7 - DSA, C6 - IWP, C6 - DBS, C7 - OOJ and C5 – MFC [ All 10 Credits]
  • Semester 2: C9 - PMA, C9 - MDS, C9 - MNP
  • Semester 3: C9 - RME, C9 - MTH, C9 - MGD
