Certificate in Health Monitoring and Evaluation (HME)

This course provides job-focused training for specific roles or careers in health and health related occupations. The Market survey established that demand for skilled workers in the field of health monitoring and evaluation (HME) is growing rapidly. The central issue is the lack of skilled employees who can monitor health related programmes and evaluate the impact of their implementation in a systemic and professional way.

The Certificate in Health Monitoring and Evaluation is designed for learners with little or no experience in monitoring and evaluation. It caters for individuals without any prior work experience in the health sector and those who may have some work experience in the health sector but need to gain a relevant formal qualification that both enhances their career prospects and opens avenues for further studies in the discipline.

The purpose of the Certificate in Health Monitoring and Evaluation is to provide personnel that are skilled enough to apply health and monitoring techniques to monitor and evaluate health programmes to improve outcomes.

Some of the career options will be : Medical Informatician, Data quality analysts, Public Health Information personnel, Inpatient & Outpatient HME coder & Coding Educator, Hospital Assistant and so on.

Entry Criteria: The minimum entry requirements are Form 5 passes in English and any science subjects (biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics or equivalent) OR relevant work experience in the health sector. The program is full time on-line programme and offered as Distance Learning (DL).
